SESM Seminar on ‘Study and Research Opportunities in Germany’
The School of Environmental Science and Management (SESM) of Independent University, Bangladesh, (IUB) in collaboration with German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), Bangladesh executed a Seminar titled ‘Study and Research Opportunities in Germany’. The event took place on July 18, 2018 at the IUB campus in Bashundhara, Dhaka that was jointly conducted by Rumana Kabir, DAAD Representative, Bangladesh and Golam Rasul, Head of Language of the Cultural and Education Section of German Embassy. The program started with an opening address given by Dr. Md. Abdul Khaleque, Dean, SESM, IUB.
During her presentation, Rumana Kabir highlighted the study, research and student visa requirements for Germany. She, however, explained the scholarship facilities in Germany and stated that Germany wants Bangladeshi students to take free education there and return back to Bangladesh to serve their own nation. Later, Golam Rasul spoke about the facilities of Goethe Institute including its library and essential language courses for the students who are planning to go to Germany for studying.
Dr. Hafizur Rahman, Assistant Professor, Department of Environmental Science, SESM also spoke on the occasion as one of the DAAD alumnus. A Q&A session took place after the seminar. A large number of IUB students and faculties attended the program.
