Seminar at IUB on 'Dream Big'
The School of Business at the Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) implemented a Seminar on ‘Dream Big’ on July 11, 2018 at the university’s own campus in Bashundhara, Dhaka. Shawpna Bhowmick, Country Manager, Marks and Spencer, Bangladesh & Myanmar was the Key Speaker in the event.
At the outset, Professor Mohd. Aminul Karim, Dean, School of Business, IUB introduced the Speaker before the audience. Subsequently, Trustee A Matin Chowdhury, Chairman, Board of Trustees, IUB and Professor M. Omar Rahman, Vice Chancellor, IUB delivered vital remarks during the opening ceremony.
Through her presentation, Shawpna Bhowmick highlighted the importance of dreaming big to achieve goals in life. Underscoring three major aspects, i. hard working mindset ii. 'never give up' attitude, and iii. upholding ‘I can do it’ posture, she stated that "every single person has the potential to achieve enormous success. All you need to do is, believe in yourself and expand your horizon". Not always one has to go abroad to pursue higher education and look for a better job. "Instead, you set your target, accomplish the education you need and become an entrepreneur", Shawpna Bhowmick emphasized on.
Afterwards, students enthusiastically participated in a lively question-answer session. The Seminar ended with vote of thanks given by Mohammed Sohel Islam, Head, Department of Marketing. Ms. Sadia Haque, Sr. Lecturer of the Department conducted the program. Honorable Trustees of IUB, Deans and Heads of different Schools and Departments, senior members of the faculty and administration and a full house student attended the Seminar.
