Discussions at IUB on independence day and genocide of 1971
To mark the Independence Day, Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) organized a Discussion on independence day and genocide of 1971 on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at IUB campus in Bashundhara, Dhaka. Mr. Zaheed Reza Noor, Feature Editor, Daily Prothom Alo was the Key Speaker of the event. Mr. Noor, however, is the son of renowned journalist, martyr Serajuddin Hossain.
The program started with a welcome speech delivered by Dr. Mahbub Alam, Dean, School of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, IUB .
In his discussion, Mr. Zaheed Reza Noor spoke on the versatile life and contributions of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, his historical speech on March 7 of 1971 and on the glorious liberation war of Bangladesh. In front of the young students, he also shared his personal experiences and memories of liberation war and the sacrifices his father and the family made for the independence of the country.
Following the presentation, the floor was open for a question-answer session where both students and faculties participated enthusiastically. Deans and Heads of different Schools and Departments, senior members of the faculty and administration and a large number of students attended the event.
